YOUR FEELINGS ARE NOT REAL AND THEY CAN BE CHANGED IN AN INSTANT AND YET, WE TRUST THEM TO THE POINT OF SUCCESS AND FAILURE, TO MARRIAGE AND DIVORCE, TO DECISION MAKING AND INVESTMENT. IN THIS USE OF FEELINGS WE ARE ALL MARKED AS FOOLS. NEVER TRUST YOUR FEELINGS AND YET, WITHOUT THEM, WE ARE NOT ALIVE… LET’S EXPLORE.

So, we spoke about the four elements of a great life being:

  1. Health
  2. Happiness
  3. Love
  4. Inspiration

And that there is an evil thing that can sabotage all these four.

The Answer?

FEELINGS….

Feelings can help you to the top and cause others to suicide. Feelings can cause lack of enthusiasm, lack of energy, lack of passion, lack of effort, lack of willingness, lack of intention. Feelings cause exhaustion. Feelings translate into depressions. Feelings cause hopelessness. Feelings are the result of, laziness.

Feelings are behind everything.

If you are tired, it’s your feelings doing it, and you are out of the game. If you feel tired you are incapable of contribution. If you feel tired you will mask the symptoms. Masking is, for want of a better word, an attempt to cover feelings up, to overcome them, synthetically, to grab at straws and do things even temporarily that make us feel better. But it’s all for naught. Feelings reveal that we are in a prison of our own making.

We feel and therefore we are. This is a quote that many people would defend. Understandably so because if we don’t feel guilty we might, in their opinion, become a sociopath – and that’s not a pretty fear.

Feelings also cause us to age too fast. And when we lose our sense of humour, it’s our feelings that get hurt. When we have lost the vitality of youth, it’s because we are feeling lost and will substitute sugar to feel good. Feeling like we are losing the battle with a boss or colleague, even children, causes loss in health, happiness, in love and inspiration.

There are many potential sources of feelings. Most of them are relabeled. For example depression is a bad feeling, really, there is not always a reason to be depressed, it’s just a bad feeling. Then, there’s physical exhaustion, but most physical exhaustion is not physical at all, it’s feeling down, defeated or feeling tired when really we might actually just feel bored. Fatigue is a feeling that happens even when we have enough fat on our body for years of energy.

There are three sources of feelings, but they all culminate in the loss of health or happiness or relationship or inspiration.

Mental feelings. Physical Feelings. Spiritual Feelings.

Mental Feelings:

Feelings often come from our mind. Sometimes we know why. Sometimes we don’t know why. So the conscious and subconscious mind can cause feelings. Another name for this is EGO.

Worry, anxiety, eye strain, lost concentration, and most of all emotion are the result of mental feelings. Clear thinking isn’t a feeling.

Things like disorganised, emotional, argumentative, uncertain and confused feelings are triggered by expectations being compared with current reality and this generates a feeling. The objective of the thinking mind is to be right and when it’s right we feel good and when we are wrong we feel bad. Those feelings in other words, are reactions.

Physical feelings

Physical feelings affect health and decision making too. The body is designed to feel pleasure and to avoid pain. When we feel bad in the body, (pain in whatever form) we reach out for pleasure. This is often in the form of substitutes. Those substitutes include carbohydrates, sugars, stimulants and, well the list is long (coca cola, alcohol, drugs, smokes) all of this is an attempt to mask our feeling bad.

Spiritual feelings.

Spiritual feelings lead to emotional behaviour.

The more emotional a person is, the smaller they feel.

My experience is that much physical tiredness is actually spiritual feels gone wrong.

Lost hope, Lost dreams. Lost love. Lost heart. Lost vision. Lost self respect. Lost ambition. Lost interest. Lost humility. Lost simplicity. All Feelings that can change easily but people don’t know how.

Spiritual feelings are at the root of much unhappiness, unhealthiness, unlovingness and uninspiredness. Lost vision, lost dreams.

Where there is hope, (a feeling) there is energy. The desperate individual (feeling threatened) clings to hope but their feelings are counterproductive.

Spiritual Feelings are the most devastating when down and the most wonderful when up. Mental and physical feelings can have a major positive and negative impact and can, with effort be overcome and controlled, but spiritual feelings are beyond that.

Spiritual feelings can separate us. Firstly from ourselves and secondly from others. And so, if we are to consider the question, Are Feelings Real? Well, the best answer is Yes and No.

Yes, because to the individual who is feeling things, those experiences are their reality. And yet, those feelings, if looked at objectively are not a reflection of truth.

Do Not Trust Your Feelings
